Several reasons can reduce your chances of getting pregnant; be it both medical or non-medical reasons, they must be treated for a successful pregnancy.
Here are some reasons why a woman may be unable to get pregnant.
Obesity:
Being overweight or obese can affect a woman’s fertility. Having a high BMI can harm fertility by inhibiting regular ovulation. Even if a woman is ovulating timely, obesity can lower their chances of getting pregnant. Obesity can also lower fertility in men as it causes poor quality of sperm and lowers their testosterone levels.
Age
Age is the single biggest factor affecting a woman’s chance to conceive and have a healthy baby. According to study, women’s fertility (the ability to get pregnant) starts to decline especially after mid 30’s. Age affects the fertility of both men and women.
Tubal factors
Sometimes a woman’s fallopian tubes stop the man’s sperm from getting to her egg and also prevent the fertilised egg from getting to her uterus.
Poor egg quality
The number of eggs as well as quality of eggs that are produced in a woman’s ovaries will decline significantly as she ages.
Endometriosis
The term endometriosis describes a condition in which cells like those inside the uterus grow outside the women’s uterus. This is often a common reason as to why a woman may be unable to get pregnant. Around 25 to 30% of infertile women have endometriosis and around 30 to 50% of women with endometriosis are infertile.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome
In this condition, the follicles in a woman’s ovaries do not develop into the mature follicles that are required to release eggs.
Ovulation problems
This can include a situation where a mature egg does not develop in a woman’s ovaries.
Note that sometimes a female may be unable to get conceive due to fertility problems in the man. Consult a medical expert consult a medical expert for possible advice or treatment.
